Privacy policy

CheckMyRingSize.com ("we," "us," "this site") is a free ring sizing tool. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. There's no account to create and no purchase to make here, so the amount of data involved is small, but we'd rather be specific than vague about it.

Measurements stay in your browser

Every calculation the ring size checker performs, screen calibration, ring diameter, finger circumference, band width, and the resulting size conversion, runs locally in your browser using JavaScript. We do not transmit your measurements, calibration values, or results to our servers, and we do not store them anywhere. If you close the tab, that data is gone. Nobody on our side ever sees it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (Google's gtag.js) to understand how many people visit the site, which pages they read, and roughly where visitors are coming from. Google Analytics collects information like page views, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. It does not collect your name or email address through normal browsing. Google's own privacy practices for this data are described at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using Google's browser add-on, or block it with most ad-blocking or privacy browser extensions.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies (typically named things like _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish visitors and sessions. We don't set any other tracking or advertising cookies ourselves. Your language preference and dark/light mode choice are stored in your browser's local storage, not a cookie, and never leave your device. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser's settings, the site will keep working, you'll just be asked your theme and language preference again.

Contacting us

If you contact us using the email address on our Contact page, that opens your own email app with a message addressed to us; whatever you send arrives in our inbox the same way any email does. We use that information only to reply to you. We don't add you to a mailing list or sell it.

Advertising

This site does not currently run advertising. If that changes in the future, for example through a network like Google AdSense, we'll update this section to disclose what data that partner collects and link to their policy before any ads go live.

Children's privacy

This site isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. The calculator itself doesn't ask for any personal information to function.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle data changes, for example by adding advertising or a new analytics tool, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above rather than making silent changes.
